AMES, Iowa – Prior to Iowa State’s 66-10 win over Texas Tech at Jack Trice Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 19, Cyclone Gridiron Club President Jay Chapman announced an annual gift of $300,000 to be used for non-budgeted football program expenses, thanks to the generous members of the Cyclone Gridiron Club (CGC) and funds raised through CGC special events.
The $300,000 donation is the most ever by the Cyclone Gridiron Club in its 14-year history.
To date, the CGC has raised more than $2.5 million for Cyclone football.

Dan McCarney, who was the head coach at Iowa State from 1995 to 2006, was inducted into the Iowa State Athletics Hall of Fame Saturday, September 24, 2016. McCarney was inducted along with former Iowa State women’s basketball player Megan Taylor; men’s basketball player Jamaal Tinsley; gymnastics star Mark Diab; wrestlers Arthur Holding and Reg Wicks; softball player Erin Woods and men’s track and field star Raf Wyns.
