Cyclone Gridiron Club Past President Mike Lacey passed away early Friday morning due to complications from prostate cancer. He was 68.
Mike was an incredible supporter of Cyclone athletics and ISU Football in particular, and was one of the key people to help expand the membership of the Cyclone Gridiron Club from a small group of around a dozen members to our current membership of well over 850. Mike was well known in the club for his leadership and his drive to promote Gridiron Club membership, as well as his relentless pursuit of people to participate in the club’s 50/50 raffles. In addition to his work with the Cyclone Gridiron Club, Mike was a past president of the Greater Des Moines Cyclone Club and Mike and his wife, Karon, were named Cy's Favorite Alums in 2008.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines. A family greeting will be at the church from 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday. An obituary and additional service details can be found at Iles Funeral home at this link.
